Can you introduce yourself and tell us about how you started your journey in the world of tattoos? What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?
My name is Ruby and I started my career in the tattoo industry in 2011. I always had a goal and dream of becoming a tattoo artist since I was 13 and my parents supported me in this idea. Unfortunately, I moved towards my goal slowly, since there was not much information and at that time it was difficult for me to get it and I had to earn money for tattoo equipment at another job. I was self-taught, but I still came to my goal.
Your portfolio features beautiful oil paintings. Do you have a formal art education? What subjects or themes do you enjoy painting the most?
Yes, I have 2 art educations! I have liked to draw since childhood, later of course I went to get an art education when I was a teenager. Most of all I like to draw with oil, of course! I have always been interested in the theme of mysticism, horror and eroticism, which is what I focus on in my tattoos and paintings!

Your black and gray realism tattoos are incredible. Is this your favorite style to work with, and if so, why?
I like realism! And for me it is considered professionalism to convey 5 things about your work. On canvas or body all the details and realism of the picture. I started and loved working with color, but later I fell in love with doing black and white tattoos. In fact, I do not separate my favorites and dislikes in terms of color and b/w, I like both options.
Do you have a favorite tattoo you’ve created so far? What makes it special to you?
One of my favorite works is “porn” because I like to convey the realism of this sensitive topic, and I like to make shock content.

Your portfolio stands out with its authentic and distinctive style, complemented by a natural sensuality. How important is it for you to stay true to your artistic voice, and how do you think it connects with your audience?
I think an artist can’t lose his “handwriting”, so for me it is mainly important to create interesting projects that will differ from the standards.
What are your plans for the future, both as an artist and beyond?
I think in the future I will continue my creativity in painting.

What do you enjoy most about being a tattoo artist? On the other hand, what do you find most challenging?
I can’t say that I have any difficulties in my work, but I really like to show every detail in the project.
Can you tell us a little about your personality and hobbies outside of tattooing?
My hobbies besides tattoos are drawing and photo sessions (creating images and performing them in video or photos), shibari, documentaries about maniacs, psychiatry, magic and watching horror and mystical films. Of course, when I have free time from work, I have fun exactly like this
