Anastassiya Nechayeva

Meet Anastassiya Nechayeva, talented artist featured in the October 2025 issue of Ink Legends Magazine. In this interview, Anastassiya shares her journey as a tattoo artist, her creative approach, and the experiences that have shaped her style and professional path.

How did your path in tattooing unfold?
My connection to art began long before I touched a tattoo machine—I was always passionate about drawing and painting. In 2020, I transformed that passion into tattooing, and it quickly became my true calling. What started as curiosity grew into a profession that allows me to combine technical precision with emotional storytelling on skin.

Which styles inspire you most?
I work primarily in realism, both in color and black & grey. Color realism gives me the freedom to bring vivid details and striking contrasts to life, while black & grey allows me to focus on emotion and depth. I am especially dedicated to cover-up work, where I can help clients leave behind unwanted tattoos and transform them into meaningful, beautiful pieces they can feel proud of.

What influences your artistic vision?
My biggest source of inspiration comes from people—their stories, their energy, and their desire to express themselves. Traveling and working across different countries, including Kazakhstan, Turkey, and now the U.S., has also shaped my approach. Every culture and place I’ve worked in has given me new ideas and perspectives that I carry into my art.

What achievements mark your career so far?
This year has been especially rewarding. At the Tampa Tattoo Convention (Ink Mania Fest 2025), I was honored with two awards, a moment that confirmed my artistic direction. My work has also been recognized in international publications, including Global Tattoo Magazine (print edition, August 2025) and Tattoo Love Magazine (digital editions, August and September 2025). These milestones inspire me to continue evolving and sharing my vision with a wider audience.

What’s next for you?
At the moment, I am preparing for a new chapter—moving from San Francisco to Los Angeles. This transition opens up fresh opportunities to grow within the vibrant LA tattoo scene. My goal is to keep refining realism, participate in more conventions, and create tattoos that combine technical mastery with emotional meaning.
