Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your journey as a tattoo artist?
My name is Anastasiia, and I’m a tattoo artist with Ukrainian roots. My journey in the tattoo world began in 2015 in Kyiv. Since childhood, I’ve always been drawn to art and nature, and when I discovered tattoo culture, I realized I had found a medium that combined emotional depth, visual aesthetics, and meaningful human connection.
I was the co-owner of a tattoo studio and tattoo school in Kyiv, where I taught aspiring artists and helped build a strong local tattoo community. This experience played a huge role in shaping me professionally. However, due to the severe political and humanitarian situation in my country, I had to close everything and emigrate. Despite these challenges, I’ve continued to grow my career internationally, collaborating with clients around the world and participating in global tattoo projects.
You specialize in fine line tattoos with custom, personal designs. What drew you to this style, and why did you choose to focus on it?
I’ve always been fascinated by the delicacy of linework and the minimalism of form. Fine line tattooing allows me to express not only visual beauty but also deeper, more personal meanings. This style gives me the freedom to create one-of-a-kind pieces that feel like an extension of the client’s identity.
I draw inspiration from flora, fauna, symbolism, and emotional narratives — that’s why so many of my designs are highly personalized. For me, it’s not just about decorating the skin; it’s about preserving something truly meaningful.
Your tattoos are unique and often carry a deeper meaning. What does it mean to you to build that kind of personal connection with your clients?
Every session is a dialogue, and the tattoo becomes the result of a shared emotional process. I deeply respect the trust clients place in me when they open up and allow me to translate something important into a lasting piece of art.
It’s never “just” a tattoo — it’s often a ritual of memory, healing, or empowerment. That kind of connection gives my work real purpose. I truly believe tattooing has therapeutic potential, and it’s an honor to be part of those moments in someone’s life.
What do you enjoy most about being a tattoo artist, and what do you find to be the most challenging part of your career?
What I love most is that this is living art — my work moves and evolves with the person who wears it. I’m constantly inspired by the way a tattoo can transform how someone feels about themselves, restore confidence, or strengthen a sense of identity. It’s an incredibly powerful tool.
The most challenging part, I would say, has been adapting — relocating, connecting with new audiences, facing competition, and overcoming language barriers. But these challenges have only helped me grow.
I aim for international recognition and continue to engage with the global tattoo scene through platforms like the Global Tattoo Association. My goal is to contribute to the cultural conversation through tattoo art, wherever I may be.
